Padhraig Gormley, PhD
Padhraig is a Postdoctoral Fellow at MGH and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, advised by Prof. Aarno Palotie. His general research interest is in human genomics with the goal of understanding the genetic basis of complex diseases. Current projects focus on identifying genes that affect risk for neurological diseases, in particular, for migraine, epilepsy and stroke. These projects involve worldwide collaboration as a member of the International Headache Genetics Consortium and the EuroEPINOMICS Consortium. He has worked previously as a Postdoctoral Fellow in human genetics at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute (UK) and received his PhD in Computational Biology from Queen’s University Belfast (N. Ireland) in 2010.
